  1. 3Dfx GLIDE 2.3 DRIVER
  2. ---------------------
  3. The 3Dfx Glide 2.3 driver is provided for your 3Dfx based 3D card.
  4. Using this driver will give you hardware accelerated 3D graphics.
  5. If you choose to use this driver, you must have a 3Dfx Voodoo 
  6. chipset on your 3D card, such as the Diamond Monster 3D, the 
  7. Orchid Righteous 3D, or the Hercules Stingray 128/3D cards.

  9. When using the Glide 2.3 Driver, adjusting gamma control in the 
  10. Options menu will have no affect in the game, but it does affect 
  11. the menus and cutscenes.  Also when using the Glide driver, the 
  12. ability to resize your screen through the Options menu or by 
  13. using the +/- keys have been disabled.

  16. INSTALLING THE GLIDE 2.3 DRIVER
  17. -------------------------------
  18. To install the Glide 2.3 driver for Outlaws, you need to copy
  19. the file LECGL23.DLL into your Outlaws install directory
  20. (generally C:\Program Files\LucasArts\Outlaws\).

  23. ENABLING ACCELERATED 3D GRAPHICS
  24. --------------------------------
  25. To set up the 3Dfx Glide Driver:
  26. * Go to the Outlaws Launcher.
  27. * Choose Change Video Mode.
  28. * Click on 3Dfx Glide 2.3 under Display Driver.
  29. * Click on one of the available video modes.
  30. * Click OK to return to the launcher.
  31. * Click on Play Outlaws to begin the game.

  34. HERCULES STINGRAY DRIVER VERSION
  35. --------------------------------
  36. If you are using the Hercules Stingray with a driver version 
  37. earlier than 1.01, you may experience severe graphical problems. 
  38. You need the Hercules Win95 driver version 1.01 or later to 
  39. correct this problem. This driver can be found at

  43. Download the driver labeled "S128W101.EXE".

  46. UNABLE TO LOAD DLL: LECGL23.DLL
  47. -------------------------------
  48. This error may happen if you choose the 3Dfx Glide 2.3 display 
  49. driver without having a 3Dfx card installed in your computer, 
  50. or if you do not have Glide version 2.3 installed.  You must 
  51. use a 3Dfx card to use the Glide 2.3 driver.

  54. TASK SWITCHING WHEN PLAYING OUTLAWS WITH 3Dfx GLIDE 2.3 DRIVER
  55. --------------------------------------------------------------
  56. We recommend that you do not task switch when playing Outlaws 
  57. with the 3Dfx Glide driver.  This is a known problem with some 
  58. versions of the driver.  Please check your 3Dfx graphic card 
  59. manufacturer's website for updated drivers that may correct 
  60. this problem.
